Colors of Plateware: Vehicles for Digestion
This is a teased version of a full post available on Patreon. Please know there have been some alterations made to its structure:
While we work with color in our everyday ━we choose which ones to wear, which ones make us feel good, which ones might complement what we’re doing━ we can also do the same with the colors of plateware.
This is for plates, bowls, and focusing on any other containers and dishes that you use to hold your food while you eat it.
To begin, you can think about the colors of your plate being energies that help bring your food to you. The colors are like subtle vehicles that help carry your food (and the food’s energy itself) to you and your body. So then the question is: How do you want it to ride?
Maintaining a body can be a lot for anyone sometimes. It comes with moments where it requires significant attention from us, and other times perhaps caring for a body can be a more chill experience.
…You'd use clear when there's something you might not like to stay in you that long or when you want a meal to be just a bit lighter in your system. Say, if it’s the holiday, your grandma is cooking and you KNOW it’s about to be a massive amount of food later. But you’re hungry now and at the same time, want to make sure that if you eat now, you’re not stuffed for the rest of the day and able to enjoy the larger dinner with the family. Clear could be great to eat from for the earlier meal in this scenario.
…If I’m eating a meal in preparation to begin fasting for the day, I would ideally aim to eat that meal off of a solid color plate, to help it stretch my fullness longer since I wouldn’t be able to eat like I normally would throughout the day.
Blue is a nice color for when okay with feeling more full and round/rounded. Say if my appetite hasn't been very active and I know I need to eat and keep more inside of me. Especially a light to medium shade of blue can be supportive to grab this. Blue can be great when you either don't mind or are in need of a hearty meal.
If you require more vitality in your life or to maintain a certain level of it that suits your lineage (in this case, think of it like a supplement you'd take to maintain a higher vitamin or life force level, for example), eating off of red plates could be great for you.
…If you need to work on holding more food in but still understand you have a sensitivity (say, an easily troubled stomach), I’d propose to start with white plates or plates with mostly white on it, instead of clear.
One thing that you can do is combine dishware.
If I'm not feeling well, or specifically dealing with a fluttery stomach or nausea, I might eat with a clear plate or clear bowl. If I have it on top of another plate, I'll do a clear bowl and white plate. This is so that it goes through me a little more easily but is also capped with some blandness/neutralizing/a mirror that energy bounces off of well, because that will help my stomach as it settles into something new and less uncertain.
You could do it vice versa. Perhaps you’d like to use a non-clear bowl if there’s something else you need to get from your food (let’s say yellow for more radiancy or a liveliness that’s been missing). In that position, I may then put it on top of a clear plate, to make sure I still don’t overwhelm myself with the yellow vehicle and food within it. The clear plate would help the yellow vehicle do its goal (helping to bring me that radiance, stability, liveliness), but in a way that is easier for me to pass through the body, or to… (WANT TO READ THE REST?)
